Anna Nicole Smith’s Daughter Looks Just Like Mom At 2023 Kentucky Derby In New Pics

Recently, 16-year-old Dannielynn was spotted with her father, Larry Birkhead, at the 149th Kentucky Derby annual event at Churchill Downs. Larry took to his Instagram to share photos from the event, including a picture that featured Richie Sambora, who taught Dannielynn to play the guitar.

“Richie graciously made good on his offer to give Dannielynn a private guitar lesson and spent a ton of time giving her confidence-building tips and mastering the art of playing the guitar. Great guy,” Larry wrote.

Dannielynn rocked a sunflower print dress by designer Leo Lin. She also wore a crystal necklace and a bracelet that used to belong to her late mother, Anna Nicole. “To be honest, the dress was so big, I had to drive it from Florida because it was too big to go on the plane and check it in. So this was a full-on production,” Larry said of his daughter’s dress.

To complement Dannielynn’s look, Larry wore a light blue suit with a sunflower added to the lapel, a yellow tie, and a handkerchief. Their constant appearance at the annual Derby has people looking out for the duo’s outfits. “The stakes are always high on these outfits,” Larry told People. “People come to me and ask, ‘What is Dannielynn wearing? Are you going to match?’ The problem is the dresses keep getting more expensive!”

Larry has kept all of Dannielynn’s previous Derby dresses

Since Dannielynn was a baby, Larry ensured to save all her Derby dresses and still continues to. “And everything she has of her mom’s is cataloged in storage, with photos of the event where she wore it,” he added. “So someday, she can give them to her kids if she wants to.”

It has been two decades since Larry and Dannielynn’s late mom, Nicole, met at the annual Barnstable Brown Gala, where Larry was scheduled to work as a photographer. The 50-year-old reminisced on what Nicole’s reaction would have been. “I think her mom would be proud,” Larry said. “She might tell me I should have dressed her in more pink— but I think she’d be happy. That she is the young lady she turned out to be.”
