Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell, who is currently a father to his son, Eric, whom he shares with his partner, Lauren Silverman, recently expressed his desire to have another child during an interview with The Sun.
“Just two days ago, I was thinking, ‘It would be nice to have another’,” Cowell, who is also one of the hosts of America’s Got Talent, told the news outlet. ”Being a dad is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I love every second I spend with [Eric]. So then I’m thinking the next step is he’s going to be a teenager.”
Simon Cowell says Eric’s childhood was a delight for him
The TV personality discussed the strong bond between him and his son and how he enjoyed Eric’s childhood. “I had such an amazing experience all through those years,” the 63-year-old said, “and I was thinking about it probably because of that.”

However, Cowell expressed uncertainty about whether Eric is open to the idea of having a sibling. “But you never know with kids if they’re happy being on their own or how would he feel if there was another one?” he told The Sun. “So look, will it happen? I don’t know. But I would love another kid. I really like being a dad.”
The 63-year-old explained that keeping up with a young child could be very challenging. “I am 64 this year, and Eric’s nine … and when I’m playing football with him, my God,” Cowell added. “I have to get fit just to play with him. His energy is off the chart, it really, really is.”
Simon Cowell says his back injury was a wake-up call for him
During the interview, Cowell also shared his perspective on his 2020 back accident. He revealed that the injury was actually a positive experience and the “best thing” that ever happened to him. “I didn’t realize really how unfit I was until I had to start doing all the exercises,” he told The Sun. “But I feel better today than I did three years ago when it happened.”
He also addressed recent rumors and jokes about his apparent weight loss and facial changes, stating that he has not had any plastic surgery. “I mean it just makes me laugh,” Cowell said. “I haven’t had a facelift or anything. So when I hear about this stuff, honestly, it does make me laugh.”
He concluded that he has not given much consideration to the speculations made by some critics about the possible procedures he may have undergone. “I don’t google myself,” Cowell added, “so I genuinely don’t have a clue what everyone is saying about me until we do things like BGT.”
