Ice-T Opens Up About Having A Daughter Past 50 Years Old

While making a guest appearance on a Tuesday episode of The Big Tigger Show on Audacy’s V-103 in Atlanta, Ice-T opened up about how the birth of his 7-year-old daughter changed his life. The 65-year-old shared his thoughts on welcoming his child at his mid-life stage and spoke about his desire to be in excellent physical condition and health as he nurtures his daughter.

“Muhammad Ali said it best, ‘When a man has a child in the second half of his life, after 50, it resets his life,’” he revealed on The  Morning Show on March 25. “It started my life over. When Chanel was born, all of a sudden I got more healthy, I’m in shape. Because you can start to slow down — I can’t start to slow down.”

Ice-T describes his daughter as his inspiration

The rapper is enjoying the experience of being a father and has expressed his excitement about the challenge of parenthood. He also referred to Chanel as his source of inspiration. “I’ve got grown kids. Now I’ve got a new daughter and I’m so focused with her. It’s just amazing,” he explained. “It’s a great thing. And you’ve gotta have a reason for living, you’ve gotta have motivation. Chanel is my new motivation.”

The father of three further described how Chanel and his wife have had a transformative impact on his life. “I’ve got two (other) kids, but this baby right here really activated my life, You’ve got to do it right,” Ice-T said. “I’m with somebody I love. Me and Coco have been together 22 years, so I’m in a good place.”

The American rapper also confirmed that he and his wife, Austin, do not intend to have any more children.“She doesn’t want any more kids. You know, one and done,” he revealed. “Like I said, I already have a couple of kids, you know, grown kids.”

Ice-T gushes over his daughter, Chanel’s talent

Also, Ice-T explained that Chanel is well-suited to being an only child, and added that she has a commanding presence that fills up any room she enters. Back in February, when he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the rapper acknowledged his daughter’s talents. “Let me shout out my family,” he said. “My son, my daughter, Coco, my wife. (Chanel), who obviously is in the position to stand behind one of these podiums one day. She has no fear of the stage.”

Chanel demonstrated her potential to follow in her father’s footsteps by creating an impressive TikTok video where she showcased her acting and directing abilities, which got the rapper gushing. The rapper took to his social media to share his daughter’s incredible talent with his fans. “Newest Actress, Editor, and Director. Chanel did this all by herself. Then showed it to me and Coco..” Ice-T wrote in the caption alongside the video of Chanel lip-syncing to “Meant To Be Yours” from the original West End cast performance of Heathers. He added, “Not bad for a 7yr old.”
