Candace Owens recently aired her opinion on a wheelchair-inclusive Ad that featured a model in a bra and underwear. The post featured the model for Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS clothing line with the caption, “SKIMS— made for everybody.”
Owens reacted to the post in a YouTube clip, asking to be educated in the comments on what the inclusive ad was hoping to achieve. “I don’t really understand how far we’re going to take this inclusivity thing. … I just want to be educated in the comments,” Owens said. She also added that the inclusivity trend “seems ridiculous” and that she is “getting tired” of it.
Owens Went Viral On Twitter For Her Comments
Weeks after Owens made those comments, the video went viral on Twitter, sparking different reactions from users, particularly Christina Applegate. The Friends guest star who revealed in 2021 that she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis which left her disabled was angry about Owens’s insensitive post. “Yes, late tweet. But woke to see the most horrifying thing. This Candace person making comments about companies who see we need help. It’s f—ing gross,” Applegate fired back.

Applegate also thanked the brands behind the ad— SKIMS, Tommy and Guide beauty, and Neo Walksticks for recognizing people with disabilities and including them in their designs.

Applegate Offered To Educate Owens Over The Phone
Applegate then made another tweet in response to Owens’ viral video on Thursday morning, noting that she was unable to sleep because of her rage over the issue which kept her up all through the night. “Candace Owens, do you know when you have seen pictures of me how f—ing hard it was to get my clothes on?” Applegate asked.
Applegate concluded by offering to educate Owens about disability via a phone conversation. She also promised to approach her with love and not rage. “If Candace wants to get on the phone with me to be educated on being disabled,” she wrote. “… I pray for her tonight… sincerely.”
