Days Of Our Lives aired on NBC since 1965, however, the show moved to Peacock last September for two more seasons. By the end of its scheduled time on Peacock, the long-time drama series might be marking its 60-year anniversary.
The TV soap opera had a 57-year run on NBC since the ‘60s before its transition to Peacock. However, the renewal with the new viewing platform has rekindled viewers’ interest in the show, and ratings that declined over the previous years are now picking up.
Peacock reported that the show has “consistently been a top ten title” since the move to their platform last September. In 2021, the platform aired two seasons of the spin-off, Days Of Our Lives: Beyond Salem, as well as Days Of Our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas.
Recently, the “Days” franchise won a Daytime Emmy award for outstanding writing for a daytime drama. The show has recorded 392 Emmy nominations, and 61 wins. Other award wins include the People’s Choice Awards, GLAAD Media Awards, and Prism Awards.
Days of Our Lives is set in the famous fictional town of Salem and it shines the spotlight on different families— the Bradys, the Hortons, the Carvers, the DiMeras, and the Kiriakises, who are resident in the Midwestern town.
The drama series was produced by the collaboration of Corday Productions and Sony Pictures Television with Ken Corday and Albert Alarr as executive producers, and Ron Carlivati as head writer. Major actors in the series include James Reynolds, Suzanne Rogers, Josh Taylor, Martha Madison, Eric Martsolf, Marci Miller, and several more.
