The Weird Way Raising Her Son Inspired Elizabeth Hurley’s Bikini Business

Elizabeth Hurley is a highly successful actress and businesswoman but more importantly a mother to her only son, Damian Hurley. The Passenger 57 star recently disclosed that being a mother affected her life positively.

The 57-year-old revealed in an interview with Hello Magazine that she reignited her passion for some of her old hobbies while raising her son. “I was in my thirties when I had my son, so I had already been out in the big, bad world for a while,” Hurley explained to the news outlet.” and so it felt good to take almost eight years off filming, so I could stay home with him.”

The actress claimed that raising her son inspired her to chase her long-forgotten passion, “During that time, I started my swimwear business.”  During that period, the proud mom also moved to the countryside where she “fell in love with gardening again.”

Hurley further revealed that tending to her garden and having time alone with her son helps create a balance away from the stress of her profession. “Being in the spotlight has its ups and down. I’m grateful for the ups and try to get through the downs as gracefully as possible,” Hurley noted. “Luckily, I spend as much time as possible in my garden at home in the country, which always helps me put things in perspective. My son prefers the country, too.”

The 57-year-old stated that her bikini pictures that have surfaced online are just meant to serve as an advertisement for her business. “I have a business to run and bikinis to sell. There’s not that much more to it than that. If I sold cans of soup, you’d see an awful lot of pictures of me stirring pots at my stove.”

Also, in an interview with Yahoo! Life, the actress added that her racy photos are meant to serve as an empowerment for fellow women. “The most important messaging for all women is be aware of what makes you feel comfortable. You know, if there’s a trend going for doing something on TikTok or something on Instagram that everybody seems to be doing, but actually you don’t feel comfortable, just don’t do it. Find your own thing,” she told the outlet. “Yes, I still wear bikinis on holidays and because I’ve got a bikini company, I’m happy to share those pictures. But expect if I didn’t have a bikini company, I probably wouldn’t share these pictures. As it happens, but I’m very comfortable doing that.”

In an interview with Hello Magazine, the actress revealed that she has inspired her son to follow his heart especially when it comes to his choice of career. “I believe in leading by example,” she said. “My son has seen me be entirely independent and forge my own way his entire life.”

Hurley further disclosed that the 20-year-old is currently pursuing an acting career. “He started making mini-movies when he was very young . . . most of them starring me and other kind family friends . . .” Hurley explained, “and I always promised him that I would be in his first real project, so I have a supporting role in this, too.”
