Bindi Irwin, Robert Irwin, and Terri Irwin have all honored the late Steve Irwin on what would’ve been his 61st birthday. The family posted some beautiful throwback photos with Steve in them, along with some heart-wrenching messages in tribute to the late Crocodile Hunter.
“Happy Birthday, Dad. Thank you for instilling a love for all species, courage to follow my heart and determination to make a difference in the world for wildlife and wild places,” 24-year-old Bindi writes. “Your legacy lives on and the world is forever changed because of your dedication to conservation. Mum, Robert and I love and miss you so much.”
His 19-year-old son Robert also took to social media to share a sweet photo of Steve holding Robert when he was just a newborn, captioning it with a simple, “Happy birthday, Dad ❤️ .”
Finally, Terri also shared her sentiments, showcasing a couple of photos of the couple’s two kids, now adults, and an updated shot of the Irwin group, which now includes Bindi’s husband, Chandler. “Happy birthday, Steve. You did good,” she writes in the caption.
Steve, a doting father and TV personality, suddenly tragically passed away after being stabbed by a sting ray while snorkeling in the waters of Australia. He died on Sept. 4, 2006. Since Steve’s death, his family has been working tirelessly to carry out his legayc, continuing their work in wildlife conservation by way of the Australia Zoo.
