Roseanne Barr Trashes ‘Roseanne’ Spinoff ‘The Conners’ For Killing Her Off

Roseanne Barr is staging her comeback. She recently released her first comedy special in 16 years on Fox Nation. Now, she’s opening up about how it felt to see her character Roseanne killed off in The Conners after she was fired from the series.

In 2018, the show Roseanne returned to ABC. However, Roseanne tweeted a racist message about President Barack Obama’s advisor Valerie Jarrett. Fans were upset which led ABC to fire Roseanne and discontinue the show. Eventually, it got worked out that it would return without Roseanne and the name was changed to The Conners.

In The Conners, Roseanne’s character was killed off to explain her absence. She said, “It didn’t faze them to murder [Roseanne]. They s— on my contribution to television and the show itself.”

Roseanne continued that she could never watch The Conners. She added, “When they killed my character off, that was a message to me, knowing that I’m mentally ill or have mental health issues, that they [wanted] me to commit suicide… And all of that was to say thank you for bringing 28 million viewers, which they never had before and will never see again. Because they can kiss my a–.”

However, she shared about the cast, “I forgive everybody. I started thinking that God took me out of there to save me. And once I started thinking that way, I was, like, a lot better off.”
