In the fashion world, high heels have gained wide acceptance and critics. For some, they like the confidence and the attention rocking stilettos give, while others consider heel-wearing a nasty habit as it comes with a lot of discomfort.

However, despite the uneasiness that comes with wearing high heels, the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, is known for her public appearance in pumps while carrying out royal duties. Interestingly, Kate has mastered how to look gorgeous and stay comfortable in them.

Kate Middleton’s ‘non-slip tights’ trick

Instagram

In an interview with Insider, Myka Meier, the founder of Beaumont Etiquette, talked about the method and products that help the British royal enjoy wearing her heels. Kate wears non-slip tights from the John Lewis department store in the UK as this gives her ankle maximum joint stability, thereby preventing her feet from slipping out of the shoes.

The sheer stockings sell within the range of £6 to $6.38. This piece has gel strips on the bottom of each foot that firmly adheres to the soles of the pumps. In a Footwear News report in 2017, royal fans noticed that the Princess was wearing the tights while on a royal tour of Canada in July 2011. On the third day of the trip, Kate wore the same shoe while visiting Sainte-Justine University Hospital in Montreal.

The princess also wears an insole

In the aforementioned interview, Meier also revealed that the Princess of Wales is fond of wearing Alice Bow insoles which are styled by British designer Rachel Bowditch. Alice Bow’s website shows the slip-in leather soles trade for $22.95 in the US. These pieces are made to act as a shock absorber and pad the feet to give a comfortable experience for hours while wearing any type of shoe, including high heels.

An anonymous source hinted to Vanity Fair‘s royal correspondent Katie Nicholl in 2015 that Kate had “ordered a couple of packets [Alice Bow insoles], she thinks they are great.” Also, Vanity Fair reached out to Alice Bow’s company, but they didn’t get a full response as a spokesperson claimed the company couldn’t comment on “talk of the duchess wearing [its] insoles.” The spokesperson toned down the conversation and went on to talk about the company’s site generating a lot of traffic, “We have seen a massive surge in site visits, however.”
