Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger served as 38th governor of California between 2003 and 2011. During this time, he could have earned $187,000 per year, up to $206,500 for his public work. However, he decided to deny his salary and use it for the common good.
By the time Arnold entered the world of politics, he was already a successful actor and bodybuilder. Naturally, he didn’t really need that money but he still could have accepted it for his work. Instead, he decided to give it to charity.
During his time as governor, he worked on issues such as greenhouse gases, minimum wage, and lowering taxes. He has continued to donate to charity in the years since he stopped being the governor of California. In 2020, he donated $1 million to help the coronavirus pandemic.
Perhaps Arnold wanted to give back after his humble beginning in Austria. He moved to the United States in 1968. First becoming a successful bodybuilder and later moving on to the acting world. His first acting gig was Hercules in New York but his breakout role came about a decade later in Conan the Barbarian.
Now, many fans know him for his roles in The Terminator series, however, he is coming back to his character Conan that made him famous in The Legend of Conan. The plot is unknown at this time but many fans are excited to see him play the famous character once again.
