It has been reported that Biff Adam, the longtime drummer for Merle Haggard, has died at age 83. It was in a Facebook post that Biff’s daughters, Connie and Debbie, would confirm their father’s passing.

“It is with a heavy heart that I inform all of you on behalf of Connie Ishman and Debi Stalder Biff’s daughters that our beloved father passed away peacefully in his sleep this evening,” the post read. “You all were very special in many ways to him! Cherish the memories you had with him and remember him with a smile!”

The family also announced plans to memorialize Biff later in the year. His daughter, Debi, will be acting as the spokesperson for the family, answering any questions that may arise. Biff had apparently been having health problems since January that made him weak and frail. “Biff has been fragile lately physically,” Debi writes in a Facebook post on January 14th.

Shortly before Biff’s death, Debi had informed fans that he had congestive heart failure, but was improving. That was on February 13th. Friends of Biff have been sharing some memories throughout the years with Biff on his Facebook and the videos are awesome to see!

Our thoughts and prayers are with Biff Adam’s family at this time of mourning, may he rest in peace. Check out the video below to relive the memories of Merle Haggard’s performance for President Reagan. In the video, Biff is playing the drums, of course!
