They said, “We truly believe that there is no movie-viewing experience like the one enjoyed in theatres. We are committed to the theatrical experience and our exhibition partners, and want to stress that we are confident that, when the time comes, audiences everywhere will once again enjoy the singular joy of seeing Paramount films on the big screen.”

In the film, Tom Cruise will return as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. Maverick is now training Top Gun graduates for a special mission. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller) is one of the graduates. He is the son of “Goose,” Maverick’s best friend who passed away. Maverick will reportedly face his fears in a brand-new, crazy mission. There is also reportedly a new romance for Maverick in the film.

Val Kilmer returns and the film also stars Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, and Ed Harris. Tom Cruise previously said, “It’s gonna be a competition film, like the first one. And it’s gonna be in the same vein, the same tone as the first one. But a progression for Maverick.”
