Demi Moore and Rob Lowe recently reunited after about four decades, and it seemed they had not aged at all since the ’80s. The pair were seen together during a special screening of The Substance at the Lumiere Cinema in Beverly Hills, California. For the duo, the moment brought back memories of the last movie they starred in together, About Last Night in 1986.
In the ’80s rom-com, Demi Moore played the role of Debbie Sullivan while Rob Lowe was Danny Martin, and the two friends in their twenties fell in love for the first time. The movie performed well at the box office, and both actors were commended by their viewers. However, Demi Moore and Rob Lowe have not appeared together on-screen since the production of About Last Night.

Demi Moore took to Instagram to share a video of her presenting at the special screening of The Substance. In the footage, she stood in front while someone from the audience questioned her. “What’s your favorite movie?” Then she discovered he was Rob Lowe, and he continued, “It better be the one I’m thinking of,” Moore laughed, and both of them chorused, “About Last Night.”
Afterward, Demi Moore invited Rob Lowe to the stage, introducing him as a special guest. She captioned the post, “About Last (Saturday) Night with @roblowe😉. An ’80s reunion to round out 2024 — thank you, Rob, for introducing our @trythesubstance screening! Grateful for the past, the present and what’s yet to come ♥️.”
Reflecting on her early career, Demi Moore detailed her career growth and lessons with The Guardian during an interview in September. She mentioned that the beauty standards for women were rather extreme in the ’80s, as they were only considered beautiful when they were slim, which affected how she dealt with herself.
The Substance perfectly captures these reported struggles. It shows a Hollywood actress who wanted to improve her appearance at all costs because of her age but faces side effects later.
