A movie poster for a Home Alone sequel made it to Facebook, with claims that the seventh installment of the franchise titled Cabin Alone will be hitting the screens soon. It featured child star Macaulay Culkin and his TV mom in an isolated cabin for Christmas, where the annoying duo Harry and Marv make a comeback.
The post noted that Cabin Alone will show on Disney + during the festive holidays, and some fans got excited for a minute. Some users were skeptical about the authenticity of the announcement, as it did not come from any official channels.
Is ‘Cabin Alone’ really coming to Disney+?
After some digging, the post was confirmed to be a hoax as the Facebook page in question was strictly for satire and fake news. The description literally reads, “I’m just here to eat frogs, lift rocks and be satirical.” Some were quite disappointed as they raised their hopes for another holiday lineup, while most remained indifferent.
The last Home Alone sequel, Home Sweet Home Alone, premiered in 2021, and this time, it was about a boy named Max who protects his home from the bad guys. This came after 2012’s TV film Home Alone: The Holiday Heist, where Christian Martyn and Jodelle Ferland play lead.
The original ‘Home Alone’ star goes on tour
Macaulay Culkin, who played Kevin McAllister in the original Home Alone, is set to tour the US from November 30th, starting at Buffalo in New York City. 14 more shows titled Home Alone: A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin, will continue until December 15, in Medford, Massachusetts.
According to the synopsis, Macaulay seeks to connect with fans, and relive historical moments from the holiday classic, while addressing fan’s curiosities and behind-the-scenes. With six Home Alone films existing, it is unlikely that Macaulay and Catherine will ever reprise their roles for another Home Alone movie.
