Over the years, Sir Elton John has been battling with a series of health challenges ranging from a prostate cancer diagnosis to walking pneumonia which has resulted in hospitalizations and instances where he was dependent on a wheelchair for mobility,
The singer had hip surgery in 2021, after which he expressed his eagerness to return to the stage and resume performing. Also, in 2022, during a visit to Cannes with his family, Elton John was spotted using a wheelchair; however, he reassured the public that he was in good health and claimed to be performing and singing at his utmost capacity.
Sir Elton John seemed weak while walking onto the stage
During his recent headline performance at the Glastonbury Festival, which was billed to be Sir Elton John’s last concert in the United Kingdom before he concludes his touring career at the end of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, many of his devoted fans raised their concerns regarding his well-being as they noticed a slight limp in his stride as he strolled onto the stage.

Amidst the issues raised regarding his balance and coordination while performing, the singer revealed that he had a wonderful time doing what he loved. “I never thought I would ever play Glastonbury, and here I am,” Elton John confessed. “It’s a very special and emotional night for me because it might be my last show ever in England, so I had better play well, and I had better entertain you, you’ve been standing there so long, and I really appreciate all the outfits and everything.”
Fans express their concerns about Sir Elton John’s health struggles
Within minutes into the show, several fans took to social media to voice their concerns about Elton John’s health status. “Elton looked like he was struggling walking out then?!” a fan wrote via Twitter. “Great intro song tho #EltonJohn #Glastonbury #glastonbury2023.”
