Steenburgen shared a recent photo of herself smiling beside Lloyd and described how lovely it was to see her longtime friend and his wife, Lisa. She also revisited their first movie together, Goin’ South, the 1978 film that Jack Nicholson directed and starred in.

That project carried special meaning for Steenburgen because she entered it as a nervous 24-year-old newcomer taking on her first major movie role. She recalled how Lloyd helped calm her fears during filming in Durango, Mexico. According to Steenburgen, he treated her with kindness, made her laugh, and became someone she could approach with questions as she learned her way around the film industry.

Is Christopher Lloyd Still Alive?

Yes, Christopher Lloyd is still alive. At 87, the Back to the Future star remains best known for playing Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown alongside Michael J. Fox. His reunion with Mary Steenburgen also carries special nostalgia, as she played Clara Clayton, Doc’s love interest in Back to the Future Part III.

Steenburgen included old photos from their shared projects alongside the recent snapshot. She even playfully framed some of her memories as questions she might have asked Lloyd early in her career, including whether they would ever work together again. Decades later, their careers crossed paths more than once, and their friendship clearly lasted far beyond a movie set. For those searching for Christopher Lloyd, he is still alive; his latest reunion offers a heartwarming update rather than sad news. Seeing Lloyd and Steenburgen together again connects several chapters of Hollywood history, from Goin’ South to the enduring adventures of Doc Brown and Clara Clayton.
