The Love Boat was one of television’s most cherished staples during the late 1970s and 1980s. Each week, it combined romance, comedy, and adventure aboard a luxury cruise ship. With its beloved cast and high-profile guest stars, the show became a cultural touchstone for millions of viewers.
Nearly 50 years after it first aired, a special Love Boat reunion will set sail. Five original cast members are coming together for the 2025 Love Boat Celebration at Sea. According to Yahoo! Entertainment, the nostalgic voyage will give fans a rare chance to meet the stars who helped make the series unforgettable.
Love Boat Reunion Onboard the Regal Princess
The upcoming Love Boat reunion will bring together Lauren Tewes (Julie McCoy), Fred Grandy (Gopher Smith), Bernie Kopell (Dr. Adam Bricker), Ted Lange (Isaac Washington), and Jill Whelan (Vicki Stubing). Joining them is singer and flamenco guitarist Charo, one of the show’s most memorable guest stars. She played April Lopez in nine episodes and also appeared as Lupe in another.
The Regal Princess will depart from Galveston, Texas, on November 16 for a seven-night cruise to Cozumel, Mexico, and Roatan, Honduras. Guests can enjoy meet-and-greets, a Q&A with the cast, trivia nights hosted by Whelan, and a happy hour led by Lange. Princess Cruises described the event as “a joyful celebration that brings the magic of The Love Boat to life.” This will also mark a rare moment when all five living original cast members appear together.
Nostalgia Meets New Horizons
This cruise is especially notable for Tewes, who has skipped previous fan voyages. Kopell, now 92, remains active as a Princess Cruises ambassador. “It’s a dream, and I’ve been living my dream with Princess for all these many years,” he said.
The Love Boat reunion is more than an event. It will honor the friendships and memories built during the show’s run. For longtime fans, it offers the perfect chance to relive cherished moments while enjoying new adventures at sea.
