Elton John has battled with a series of health problems over the years, such as prostate cancer, heart problems, and, more recently, a severe eye infection that has left him partially blind. Following the announcement of his recent heartbreaking news, fans have poured in their wishes as they pray for his recovery.
Recently, the singer shared a heartwarming update that brought relief and joy to his admirers. John assured them that despite his health challenges, he is still committed to making them happy through his music but didn’t comment on stage performance.
Elton John tells fans to expect new music soon
While making an appearance recently on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote his documentary Elton John: Never Too Late, John revealed, much to the delight of his fans, that he is still in the business of making music.
The singer, who retired from touring last year after the completion of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, stated emphatically that he has not decided to step away from music. He explained that he still has his creative edge and was working on some projects and that his fans should expect new music from him soon, but it will be at his own pace.
Elton John counts himself “the luckiest man in the world” despite health battles
John’s new announcement came as a bit of surprise because he had previously, in November, during an episode of Good Morning America, stated that he was not confident of being able to return to the studio due to his failing sight.
However, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer told Colbert that even though the problem with his sight remains persistent, he considers himself “the luckiest man in the world.” Elton John can’t project what his music career will be like in years to come, but the singer is full of gratitude for the miles he has walked.
