Sophia Loren’s granddaughter, Lucia Ponti, was among the debutantes at Saturday evening’s Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris. The 18-year-old turned heads in her Giorgio Armani tubed dress striped gray and cream, which she accompanied with a statement diamond and emerald necklace.
Lucia let her wavy hair down in a center part and posed on the red carpet with her date, Count Alberico di Carpegna Brivio. Brivio matched her outfit nicely with a black suit over a white shirt and matching bowtie.

Before the ball, Lucia told HELLO! that her grandmother’s timeless elegance and loyalty to her style inspire her looks, including her choice of outfit for the event. Thanks to Sophia, Lucia prioritizes comfort over trends when dressing up and knows how to add a unique touch to her fashion. Lucia added that the 90-year-old’s wardrobe contains pieces that tell a story, and she aims to replicate that with hers.
Before settling for the Giorgio Armani ensemble, Lucia looked back in time to previous debutantes and noticed how each lady showed personality through their dresses. Lucia had a smile on her face in most of her shots and posed with the other stunning ladies from her set.
Fans react to Lucia Ponti’s stunning designer look
Lucia made it to HELLO!’s Instagram grid, and fans did not hesitate to like and comment on her photo. “Granddaughter of iconic actress Sophia Loren, looked like a princess…at this year’s Le Bal des Débutantes!” the caption read.
Someone called her dress a “sensation,” noting that Lucia is impressive for a young girl just entering life. “Beautiful girl and Armani’s dress is beautiful,” another quipped with a heart-eyes emoji. A few critics thought the ball is overrated and should be left being with old times. “…so last century and utterly ridiculous in 2024,” they wrote.
