Sally Field Gets Called ‘Ugly’ Online For Choosing To Age Naturally

Sally Field has joined the league of older celebrity women who are embracing aging and refusing to undergo cosmetic intervention to slow down the inevitable. Since choosing to age gracefully and not have any work done, Sally has received mixed reactions— including backlash, from social media users.

The mother of three now enjoys family time with her sons and five grandchildren, especially after growing her acting career to an admirable level since the mid-’50s. She is grateful to have her sons chart their career paths in the acting industry and to have the chance to have quality moments with them.

Social media reacts to Sally Field’s barefaced look

Amid negative reactions to her changing appearance, Sally insisted in 2018 that it was okay to be an old woman in her 70s. She admitted to feeling dissatisfied upon seeing herself on TV, however her resolve to keep things natural remains unchanged.

Trolls did not spare Sally while coming for her looks, outrightly calling her ugly and noting that her “butt is going down too.” Thankfully, many supporters came to Sally’s defense, showering her with praise in the comments and clapping back at the critics. “You’re always going to be gorgeous Sally,” a fan wrote matter-of-factly.

Sally opens up about her debilitating illness

Sally was diagnosed with osteoporosis in 2005, leading to a rapid decline in her bone density, which in turn leads to quicker aging, bent posture, body pain, and overall lack of rigidity. The 77-year-old has since channeled her strength into creating awareness about the condition, which reportedly affects more women than men.

The actress has remained an open book when it comes to her struggles, which she detailed in her autobiography titled In Pieces. Sally is learning to relish life more, waking up to an exquisite view of the mountains and the ocean via her $2.3 million Pacific Palisades home in Los Angeles.
