Weeks after receiving a lifetime achievement award at the 2023 Industry Dance Awards & Cancer Benefit show, Shirley MacLaine stopped by for lunch at the local Kristy’s in Malibu. The veteran actress was with her health aide, who stayed by her side throughout for support.
Shirley wore a blue sweatshirt, teal pants, and a long beige cardigan, completing the look with sunglasses and a visor to protect herself from the sun. Both ladies sat at the cafe’s patio to enjoy their meal before leaving shortly after.

Despite appearing frail and needing a caretaker, Shirley still attends events and makes sure to stun on the red carpet. The Noelle actress showed up at the award show on October 19 wearing a black blazer with floral details, black slacks, and matching shoes.

Shirley took photos with her sister-in-law, actress Annette Bening— who also did the honors of presenting her award during the ceremony. She also posed with Peter Levine, who was likely her date for the evening. The event was hosted by former Broadway dancer and Radio City Rockette Amanda Kloots, who currently co-anchors The Talk on CBS.
A successful Hollywood career
Shirley spent her younger years building a successful career as a dancer and screen diva. She started dancing as a toddler and began acting during her senior year in high school, quickly gaining recognition for her role in the chorus of Oklahoma!
She then joined the dancing ensemble of the Broadway production of the ‘50s musical Me And Juliet and appeared in more productions like Around The World In 80 Days, The Trouble With Harry, Some Came Running, Ask Any Girl, The Apartment, The Children’s Hour, Irma la Douce, and Sweet Charity, which solidified her place in Hollywood.
One of Shirley’s prominent roles was in the 1977 drama Turning Point — a movie that shined the spotlight on ballet in New York, featuring choreography by George Balanchine and Alvin Ailey, the founder of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Shirley has received six Academy Award nominations, multiple Golden Globes, and an Emmy for Gypsy In My Soul.
