Hayek’s thoughts on ‘Black Mirror’
Hayek admitted to being reluctant about starring in season six of Black Mirror because she was afraid of being criticized by viewers for “disgusting” and “grotesque” scenes. “There are so many moments that shocked me in the script,” she said in an interview. “There is one huge one that I had to come to terms with, and made me ask myself, ‘Do I really want to do this? Am I going to get in trouble?’”
She, however, added that she enjoyed filming the dystopian sci-fi drama series despite her fears of receiving negative feedback. “It’s been absurd and a lot of fun. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play an interpretation of myself. I got to explore the concepts and clichés people have about me and be self-deprecating,” she added.
