It's no secret that Didi Conn is a long-time supporter of her former castmate Olivia Newton-John. Especially during the Grease star's ongoing cancer battle, her former castmates have been nothing but supportive. Didi played the role of Frenchy in the hit musical movie Grease and recently talked about Newton-John on an episode of This Morning.\r\n\r\n"The best news I heard is that Olivia Newton-John is doing beautifully well. Her spirit shines. I just love her," Didi says about her friend.\r\nDidi Conn has been nothing but supportive of her friend and former castmate\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Grease star has been open about her use of medical cannabis during her cancer battle. Newton-John first battled cancer in 1982 and underwent a partial mastectomy in addition to reconstruction surgery. She then was diagnosed a second time in 2013 and a third in 2018. Doctors believed her back pain was due to sciatica, but\u00a0doctors later confirmed that the breast cancer had metastasized to her sacrum as a tumor was found at the base of her spine.\r\n\r\n\u201cI use a lot of cannabis in my healing\u201d, she said to Yahoo! Lifestyle recently. \u201cIt helps me incredibly with pain and sleep.\u201d\r\nNewton-John's use of medical cannabis\r\n\r\n\r\nThe actress says that she, like most other people, was hesitant about using cannabis as a means of healing. Then, she found out that it\u2019s a huge aid in helping the pain, insomnia, and depression, which are just some of the things she experienced as a side effect of her cancer.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s an astounding plant, a maligned plant, however, it\u2019s aiding such a significant number of individuals,\u201d she said.\r\n\r\nNewton-John says she and her husband grow their own cannabis on their ranch in California. \u201cHe [her husband] grows the plants and makes them into a liquid for me. I take drops maybe four to five times a day,\u201d she says.\r\nNewton-John says herself that she is doing great!\r\n\r\n\r\nNewton-John was recently able to give us all a positive update on her cancer battle. Didi is definitely telling the truth when she says her friend is doing "beautifully well!" She says that last year in September she was \u201cbedbound,\u201d but now she\u2019s doing \u201cgreat.\u201d When asked if she is in\u00a0remission\u00a0yet, she has a simple yet thought-provoking answer.\r\n\r\n\u201cI don\u2019t call it remission \u2014 I just say I\u2019m living with it. I\u2019m living with it very well. To think that you could get rid of every single cell is not really a reality at this point. But I\u2019m feeling great. Things are shrinking.\u201d She does credit her usage of medical cannabis during her cancer battle.
