A high school football coach is going viral for the best reason. The coach in Alabama has started “Manly Mondays” as a way to teach the boys on the team life lessons they will need later in life. For example, in one of the videos viewed millions of times on social media, the coach teaches them to change a flat tire. That could come in handy at any time!

The program uses a little bit of practice time each week to teach the kids a life lesson. He has also taught the players how to change the oil in their car, change the transmission fluid in their car, cut a PVC pipe with twine and magnetize a screwdriver so far.
See a video of the coach teaching life skills to players below

The head coach Cody Gross often uploads these videos where assistant coach Carter teaches the boys. While these skills aren’t really applicable to football, they can be very useful in life! Some of these boys may not have a role model at home that will teach them these life skills. So, for some of the boys, these "Manly Monday" lessons could be incredibly special.

It also shows the kind of commitment these coaches have to their players. Not only do they want to see them succeed on the football field, but they want to make sure they succeed in life. A glimpse into “Manly Mondays” shows just that.

What do you think about football coaches teaching their places life skills during practice time? It seems like a really great idea! Perhaps more coaches will catch on to this idea after watching these videos. I learned a thing or two myself just from watching those video clips.

Apparently, their team is not the greatest football team, but they sure stand out for their "Manly Mondays." Other teams could certainly learn a thing or two from them on how to change a tire. It seems to be a life skill that most kids are lacking these days, but not these kids in Alabama!

Check out a video example below of "Manly Mondays."
