The Toy Story franchise is really pulling out the big guns with this last film! The new movie apparently features cameos from big Hollywood names such as Betty White, Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, and Carol Burnett! These four amazing comedy icons are voicing a group of baby toys that Woody meets when he is in Bonnie’s closet after losing her interest.
The group of toys tell Woody that it is okay to be beyond his “prime” of being the favorite toy. They all look back on the great memories they had from when they, too, were in the spotlight.
More about the character cameos in ‘Toy Story 4’
USA Today was the first to learn about these amazing cameos. What’s even better about these cameos includes the names of these characters; Melephant Brooks, Bitey White, Chairol Burnett, and Carl Reineroceros. Could this get any better!?
Director Josh Cooley speaks about the film further, saying, “They’ve done their job and are just kind of waiting around for what happens next… And now that Woody’s in there, they’re accepting him into their circle and he’s already pushing against that. Sometimes toys fall in and out of favor. I look at my own kid and stuff that was the favorite toy yesterday is now in the closet. We wanted to show that Woody’s new life in this bedroom is not exactly what he thought it was going to be.”
What our favorite Hollywood stars think of their roles in the film
Our favorite Hollywood comedy icons have also shared their comments on the film.
“The Toy Story movies are not only great fun, but they have a lot of heart,” said Brooks. Reiner says, “To be represented by a cute little toy character is not the worst thing in the world.”
“It was wonderful the way they incorporated our names into the characters,” White says, “And I’m a sucker for animals, so the tiger was just perfect.”
Reiner also says that it was surprising they got paid for their work because it was just so much fun. “We would’ve done it for nothing. But don’t tell Mel,” she says hilariously.
