Have you ever wondered where paint companies get new names for their paint colors? If you’ve had some great ideas for new color names, Behr is looking for you! Behr is hiring a “Color Explorer” who will get to travel across the United States and Canada this summer. As they travel, they will help create new names for paint colors.
What will you earn if you get this lucrative gig? They are paying $10,000! Also, all of your travel expenses will be covered. So, if you’re really creative, this would be a pretty sweet summer job. Behr will decide the places that you get to travel and you’ll have to take notes and photos. Then you’ll update their blog and social media pages with your experiences.

So far, Behr has announced a few places that you’d travel to on your trip if you got the job. These places include Lake Louise in Banff National Park and the “Rainbow Row” music festival in Charleston, South Carolina. The “Rainbow Row” is actually a row of pastel-colored homes that are famous in Charleston.
If you get the job, you will also work with Behr color experts to help them come up with some new paint names. Sounds pretty awesome, right? If you love working with colors and traveling, it sounds like a very unique and fun experience.

If you’re interested in this opportunity, you need to fill out a registration form on Behr’s website. You will also answer the question, “What color inspires you the most and why?” in 150 words or less. The deadline to apply is May 15, so get thinking about your answer! You will have to be 21 years old, have a valid passport, and Behr says you need to “love color.” Do you think you have what it takes to be chosen for this cool summer job? No word yet on when the gig would actually start and end or how many hours you might put in each week.
