Diana Ross is claiming that a TSA agent brought her to tears at an airport in New Orleans by violating her. She tweeted on Sunday morning that she was treated like royalty when she performed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival this, but her airport experience was anything but. Her initial message says that she was “treated like sh-t.”

She followed up by saying, “Its not what was done but how, I am feeling violated – I still feel her hands between my legs, front and back (saying to me it’s her job) WOW!! Really mixed emotions, I always like to see the good things but not feeling good right now.”

The singer updated her fanbase several hours later saying that she was “feeling better.” A TSA spokesperson spoke to Fox News about the incident, saying, “TSA is committed to ensuring all travelers are treated with respect and courtesy. TSA is aware of concerns presented by Diana Ross about her screening experience at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport this morning.

The spokesperson continued, “Initial review of CCTV indicates that the officers involved with Ms. Ross’s screening correctly followed all protocols, however, TSA will continue to investigate the matter further. We encourage Ms. Ross to reach out to TSA so we can further explain our procedures, designed to protect travelers from a persistent threat.”

Ross made sure to clarify that it wasn’t the entirety of Delta Airlines or the staff, but the TSA agents alone. She said they were “over the top” in their routine pat-down. Many of her fans shared their own experiences with TSA.

“Terrible. At the Denver airport when I had to go back through regular security (I’m Precheck) to get a lost item, the TSA agent stuck her hands inside the front of my pants and moved them around. I was not expecting it and felt terribly violated,” one person said.

In recent years, TSA announced that it would be moving towards a higher caliber of physical screening for their pat-down routines, which would involve more agent-to-passenger contact when deemed “necessary.” This includes hands directly between the thighs in the crotch area and even between the breasts (as seen in viral photos and videos).

Of course, not everyone is happy with this new move and believe there could be a much less invasive and violating approach to keeping us safe.
