One mom named April Castillo was tasked to create a “crazy hairstyle” for her daughter’s crazy hair day at school. Due to her love of mermaids and her daughter’s love for Little Mermaid, she had a great idea. After searching on Pinterest, she decided to create The Little Mermaid… in her daughter’s hair.
She placed an Ariel Barbie doll in her daughter Atlantis’ hair and then braided around it. She then used green hairspray to spray the braid to make it look like a mermaid’s tail. From the front of Atlantis’ hair, you can only see the red hair of the mermaid. It simply looks like a fun accessory, but nothing too special. However, from the back, it looks like a real mermaid! How cool is that?

April’s inspiration came from her love of mermaids. She named her daughters Ariel and Atlantis. April is a cake decorator by day, so she is definitely very creative and artistic. 4-year-old Atlantis loved the hairstyle. The photo went viral after her sister Ariel posted it on Twitter.
Of course, you know where the name Ariel came from. April named Atlantis after the place where Ariel lives in The Little Mermaid.
The post inspired other moms to share photos of their crazy hairstyle ideas. Some people shared their own versions of the mermaid hairstyle, while others showed off even more creative hairstyles. Some looked like Coca-Cola, rainbows, and other unique ideas.

#MadHairDay ☀️🌈☁️☔️ . – At least this year wasn’t a fail hey? (See stories for last years epic fail 🦄. At least I tried 😂). – I can still vividly remember when we were struggling to conceive feeling upset thinking I’d never get to do all of this and longed for a child of my own. My dream come true right there ✨❤️. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ – So to the two mums whispering behind us today taking the mick that ‘I must have been up since 6am doing some stupid mad hair day rainbow thing’ – I waited long enough to do things like this so if I want to do exactly what my child asked for I will.. 🙄. Motherhood is hard enough without other mums trying to tear each other down. . . . . #crazyhairday #rainbowhair #pinterestmom #stylishcubs #dresskidslikekids #motherofdaughters #northernmamas #discoverunder10k #letkidsbekids #raisingthoserascals #our_every_day_moments #rememberingthesedays #developinglife #mummyvlogger #pbloggeruk #lifewithin4corners #littlelivelaughlove #watchthemlearn #documentourdays #tbcsmiles #oneperfectmoment #holdthemoment #capturingtheday #thisparentlife #mysweetmotherhood #channelmumvillage #ihavethisthingwithpink #pinkflashesofdelight #ihavethisthingwithrainbows
