If you love IHOP and free pancakes, you need to save this date in your calendar! IHOP’s annual Free Pancake Day is coming on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. You will be able to score a free stack of flapjacks from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at any IHOP location near you.
IHOP’s annual Free Pancake Day isn’t just to reward their customers with free pancakes. The day also helps raise money for IHOP’s charity partners: Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Shriners Hospitals For Children. This year their fundraising goal is $4 million.
All of the money will be used locally. Another great way that IHOP is partnering with the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital is a Kid Chef competition. Last year was IHOP’s first ever Kid Chef competition. Kids ages 6-16 who were being treated at a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital were invited to come up with their dream pancake creation.
6-year-old Brody was the winner of the competition! He came up with the “OREO Oh My Goodness” pancakes, which are available now until April 14, 2019. Brody was born with a rare abdominal wall defect and was in and out of the hospital. For the first years of his life, he could only eat using a feeding tube. When he was finally able to eat some solid foods, he got to try Oreos and they have been his favorite ever since.
The “OREO Oh My Goodness” pancakes are a stack of two buttermilk pancakes with Oreos baked in! The pancakes are topped with more Oreo pieces, cupcake icing, and whipped topping. They sound delicious but very decadent! It is definitely more of a dessert than a breakfast item.
$1 from the sale of every “OREO Oh My Goodness” pancakes will support the charities mentioned above.
