When you are on a tight budget, it can be hard to travel. You might become stressed out trying to find the best hotel room and the best deals for little money. With so many different travel and hotel websites out there, it can become overwhelming to find the best deal. However, there is a little secret you can use every time you go on a vacation to score a bigger and better hotel room for free.
When you find the hotel of your dreams and go to book a room at your next destination, call to make a reservation and ask a simple question. Politely ask, “Could I please book a corner room?”
Chances are this will help you get a bigger hotel room without paying anything extra. Hotels are often built with corner rooms being a little bit larger than other standard rooms but are not large enough to be considered a suite.
Also, because a corner room may contain more square footage and more windows, your room will likely be quieter than if you had one in the middle of a block of rooms or near an elevator.
If you’ve already booked your room and plan to ask if you can upgrade to a corner room when you check in, make sure to do so with discretion. Avoid asking when there is a large line and other guests waiting near you to be checked in as well. There is no way to be certain that a corner room is still available, but if you never ask, the answer is always no! It can’t hurt to see if an upgraded room is available at no additional cost. The worst they can say is no.
