With Pat Sajak’s four-decade era on Wheel of Fortune finally gone, his replacement, Ryan Seacrest, is getting ready for his first episode as season 42 approaches. Viewers are anticipating the new change as they look forward to what it feels like having someone aside from Pat host the game show.
An insider claims that Ryan is set to ditch some of Pat’s traditions and will be bringing his own spin to the mix come September. While Vanna White remains the only anchor familiar to fans, there have been rising concerns about her suddenly retiring and opening the program to another drastic replacement.
The 49-year-old is reportedly switching things up from Pat’s relaxed, low-key style to more hype and publicity. According to a studio source, this move is important for drawing the attention of younger viewers. They added that working with Ryan has been happier, quicker, and less sleepy, unlike Pat’s less interesting era.
Rather than boring, Ryan considers his predecessor’s style to be charming and witty, as he acknowledged him on social media amid the handover announcement. He thanked Pat for setting the standard and creating memories for an excited audience, including him, for years.
The studio source further clarified that Ryan’s unique style will be immediately obvious as he is quick on his feet and a beast at memorizing with less constant need for the teleprompter. He is also great at fun conversations, which he would employ to engage the audience.
