Oliver Hudson Clarifies Viral Comments About Trauma From Mom Goldie Hawn

Weeks back, Goldie Hawn‘s son, Oliver Hudson, shared deeply personal revelations about trauma during his upbringing, which stirred up comments among netizens. The actor disclosed the challenges he faced during his formative years, shedding light on a childhood marked by profound trauma in his relationship with his renowned mother.

Recently, the 47-year-old summoned the courage to clarify his viral comments, Hudson explained that his words were blown out of proportion and taken out of context by trolls, as he never meant to disrespect his mom in any way.

Hudson made an appearance during the latest installment of the Sibling Revelry podcast alongside his sister, Kate Hudson, to give more context to his remarks about his mom. He maintained that his previous revelations were raw thoughts of how he felt as a child and not a reflection of his mother.

“I’m even afraid to talk about it to inflame this even more because everything is taken so far out of context,” Hudson stated. “If you listen to the whole thing, it’s more about my child feelings in that moment rather than me and how I feel about Mom as a parent.”

He further disclosed that the initial comments had been exaggerated, given the topic’s sensitive nature. “I think it’s words like ‘trauma’, it’s like you say that word, and immediately it inflames everything,” Oliver explained. “There was no trauma coming from my mother, the way she raised me, in any way whatsoever. You’re speaking from a five-, six-year-old perspective. That’s what I was doing. Without her, again, I’d be nothing.”

However, Hudson admitted to feeling remorseful for using the term “trauma,” which garnered significant media attention while also reiterating his deep affection for his caring and devoted mother. “They’re using these buzzwords to then create and Frankenstein a sentence together — if you listen to the whole thing it’s more about sort of my child feelings in that moment, rather than me, how I feel about Mom as a parent,” he confessed.

“I don’t know who I would be without my mother. I mean, I really, I can’t even fathom it. The love that I have for her and the respect and the reverence that I have for her is beyond anything,” the actor added. “So it was just, you know, completely taken out of context. It was used for clickbait, and it is what it is. I just let it roll and deal with the repercussions.”
