Bruce Willis was recently introduced to his new granddaughter, who was born in April. It was an emotional moment as his daughter, Rumer, was in tears as she watched her father embrace baby Louetta for the first time.
“It was such an emotional moment— so many feelings. Rumer was in tears. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room. It was beautiful and bittersweet,” a source said. Bruce was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia shortly after an initial diagnosis of aphasia last year.
Although Bruce’s dementia has “been tough for everyone,” and his communication is not so great, meeting his grandchild was a beautiful moment, and the family could tell her was happy.
“He didn’t say this, but his granddaughter gave him a reason to fight even harder. The power of pure love in that moment was very intense. Everyone felt it. She’s like an angel from heaven,” the source added.
The touching moment brought the family closer, and it was very special for Bruce. The Die Hard actor shares his daughter and Lou’s mother, Rumer, with his ex-wife Demi Moore, and two more daughters with her. His current wife, Emma, also shares two children with him— Mabel and Evelyn.
“Meeting his first grandchild brought the entire family even that much closer. Rumer couldn’t wait— she brought the baby to her dad right away. It felt as if Bruce had received a boost of energy,” the source disclosed further.
