Anson Williams is up for some very happy days in his future, as he celebrates his marriage to wife Sharon MaHarry! 73-year-old Williams got his start in acting in 1971 but is most famously known as the goodhearted, musically-inclined Warren “Potsie” Weber from Happy Days. On Saturday, he once again became a married man.
Williams had been married to Lorrie Mahaffey from 1978 to 1986. He married Jackie Gerken in ’88 and the two remained together for over 30 years. However, he ended up filing for divorce in 2019. Just this Saturday, he tied the knot with Sharon MaHarry in his native California.
Originally from Los Angeles, Williams has planted roots in neighboring Ojai, California, making a bid for mayor, and now, getting married. Williams and Sharon’s marriage took place at a private residence not far from the sea. The ceremony itself was relatively small in scale, featuring primarily the couple and an officiant. Decorative flower pots adorned the brightly-lit yard.
But there were guests in attendance watching the ceremony. Williams was dressed in a black suit with sunglasses against the bright light. The officiant was dressed all in white. Sharon wore a silvery-white Mac Duggal dress that featured a lacy sheer fabric draped over an opaque base, capped by a delicate white tiara. Her blonde hair was kept mostly down, with the front sides drawn back out of her face.
Though Williams is not mayor of Ojai, having lost his bid for office, he’s still a beloved familiar face in the area. As for Sharon, she is an accomplished real estate agent who operates around Ojai. She’s also a former advertising executive and author. She got her degree in English from Salem, Virginia’s Roanoke College. In the past, she’s served as Senior vice president and Creative Director at New York-base Young and Rubicam Advertising Agency.
It’s a pleasant turn of events for Williams, who admitted that splitting from his previous wife was very emotionally challenging. “Despite best efforts to work things out or make allowances, and as difficult as it is, sometimes you have to do what’s best for everyone,” Williams told TMZ back in 2019 at the time of the spit.
Hopefully, it’s nothing but Tuesday, Wednesday, happy days from here on out.
