Linda Thompson shares throwback photos of Lisa Marie Presley / Instagram
Elvis Presley and Linda Thompson had unique relationship. The two dated throughout the ’70s, and though they married other people at different points, they were an irrevocably important part of each other’s life. Following the death of Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie, Thompson is reflecting on that continued closeness and on the life of one girl lost too soon.
Lisa Marie is the only daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley. She was born on February 1, 1968. Tragically, Lisa Marie died just weeks before her 55th birthday after suffering cardiac arrest at her California home. Lisa Marie leaves behind children of her own, but Thompson is remembering a time when it was the singer-actress who was a little kid. See throwback photos shared by Thompson here.
On Wednesday, Thompson took to Instagram to share a series of pictures of Lisa Marie from years ago. “Like many of you, I am doing a little bit of spring cleaning and ran across this photo album from back in the day,” she shared. “These are all Polaroids. Time stood still for a few moments as I looked through these precious photos. Little ‘Yisa Marisa’ as I remember her so lovingly. She was a precious little girl!”
She continued, “Shown here she was six years old and had just lost her two front teeth. She wanted me to take some pictures of her in my dressing area at the Monovale house. We had such a wonderful relationship for so many years. She’s still a part of my heart.”
Following the sudden death of Lisa Marie, Thompson reflected how she and Presley “kept in touch off and on for all these years,” meaning she knew his daughter. Thompson could see Lisa Marie had her father’s “deep, soulful eyes, his pouty lip, and his raucous, irreverent sense of humor.” The two crossed paths at several events honoring the King of Rock and now Thompson is looking to honor the legacy Lisa Marie left behind.
Lisa Marie had four children: Riley, Benjamin, Finley, and Harper. Sadly, Benjamin died by suicide in 2020. Losing so much has been difficult for those who remain. Those who know the family say Riley is being strong and supportive for her sisters, and Thompson is in turn supporting Riley.
“I don’t know how many of you are watching – or have binge watched like I did – @daisyjonesandthesix starring Lisa’s daughter @rileykeough….but if you haven’t you must!” she gushed in her recent Instagram post. “It is fantastic!! There are so many nuances in Riley’s facial expressions that remind me of her beautiful mom. Lisa‘s lovely, formidable, powerful presence lives on in her gorgeous and talented daughter.”
