Last year, Miranda Lambert enjoyed the luck of the Irish with a full experience this St. Patrick’s Day. She had one festive holiday trip with her husband Brendan McLoughlin when the pair went to Ireland to celebrate the authentic way. The two enjoyed some Guinness but they especially enjoyed each other’s company.
Lambert, 39, married Brendan McLoughlin, 32, in 2019. McLoughlin has served as an officer in the New York City Police Department. Lambert announced their marriage in February, a month after their actual wedding. It’s been nothing but romance since then, perfectly shown in her cuddly St. Patrick’s Day throwback photo.
McLoughlin is an Irish surname, so what better way for Lambert and her husband to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than in Ireland? “This time last year we were celebrating St. Paddy’s day @theadaremanor in Ireland,” Lambert shared in the post’s captions. “The best trip! Cant wait to go back. Cheers y’all from the McLoughlin’s.”
The throwback photo features Lambert and McLoughlin enjoying two towering glasses full of drink and weeping with condensation. The couple sits side by side and is all smiles with coordinating green clothes and accessories.
Sometimes a work life and personal life can mix. Lambert had been performing on the set of Good Morning America with her band Pistol Annies when she first met McLoughlin. Back in November 2018, McLoughlin was working security at ABC. “My girlfriends, the Annies, saw him and knew I might be ready to hang out with someone,” she shared in a New York Times profile. “They invited him to our show behind my back. They plucked him for me.”
The coordinating and sneaking extended beyond the band. Lambert revealed, “My security guy Tom, he was in on it too. He said to me, ‘He’s here. And he’s pretty.” When it came time to share her love story, Lambert chose Valentine’s Day to announce the happy news.
Friends and colleagues might have played a part in getting it started but Lambert knew that when a good thing came her way, she had to pursue it. “I feel like I’ve been through enough in my life to know what I don’t want,” she mused, “so when I know what I do want, I snatch it right up.”
