Both are big names in the entertainment industry, with multiple nominations and acclaim to their names. On top of all that, Ron Howard and his daughter Bryce Dallas Howard have birthdays just a day apart and the start of March a big time for celebration in their family.
Sure enough, Ron and Bryce both took to social media this week to bid the other a happy birthday. Ron, 69, shares daughter Bryce, now 42, with writer Cheryl Howard, with whom he tied the knot back in 1975. Double the birthdays meant double the tributes. Here’s how these two wished each other happiness on their special day.
First up was Ron, born on March 1, 1954. So, on Wednesday, Bryce took to Instagram to share a pair of throwback photos; the first showed Ron as a new dad and Bryce as a baby. Both are smiling sweetly with Bryce in her dad’s lap, already sporting a head of her signature red hair. Back then, Ron had a mustache. Then came the second shot, after much time had passed, based on Bryce’s longer hair. She’s still in dad’s lap, this time looking thoughtfully at a book as he reads to her.
“Daddio, you are my best friend — always have been, always will be,” she captioned the post, adding, “I love you. Happy Birthday.” She went on to explain the background behind each picture. In the first photo, she is just two and the second picture is from 1987.
Next in the Howard clan, it was time for Ron to celebrate daughter Bryce, who is one of four; she also has twin sisters Jocelyn and Paige, and brother Reid. On Wednesday, Ron celebrated Bryce with a throwback photo of his own of Bryce snoozing away. In the post, he calls it “one of THE joys of our lives to witness @BryceDHoward grow into the woman, mother, wife & consummate show biz pro that she is.”
His post continues, “Ever evolving she’s somehow personally ambitious & generous & loving all at once. #HappyBirthdayBryce. U make us grateful & proud. Cheryl & I & the rest of the family can’t wait to where else your journey takes. We’re with you all the way!”
Happy birthday to them both!
