‘My Three Sons’ Star Dawn Lyn Wakes Up From Coma, Four Months After Brain Surgery

Recently, former My Three Sons star, Dawn Lyn regained consciousness following brain surgery last year. The actress had a surgical operation to remove a brain tumor in late 2022 and slipped into a coma after the procedure. Her co-star, Tina Cole excitedly revealed to Fox News Digital on Tuesday that the news of the actress’ unexpected waking up from a coma was broken to her via a call from Lyn herself.

“I saw a call coming in from her number and I expected it to be her husband John calling – he usually does I was in an indoor soccer game for my grandson and I could hardly hear. I stepped outside and was stunned,” she told the news outlet. “I heard her voice. It was raspy, but it was her. I just said, ‘Dawn, is that really you?’ She said, ‘Yes, it’s really me.’ The tears just came. I was in shock. And it was just so wonderful. I couldn’t believe it.

Tina Cole Says Dawn Lyn’s recovery is a miracle

Cole explained that the sudden coming around of Dawn Lyn makes her so happy and it is proof that miracles still happen. “The last time I saw her, she was in a neurological rehab unit, and she still wasn’t responding a whole lot to me,” Cole shared. “So to hear her voice was just thrilling… We had a Christmas miracle when she came out of the coma… And they’re very hopeful that she’ll be home by Easter. Isn’t that great? Miracles do happen.”

Cole also said that she looks forward to having a nice time with the 60-year-old  during the  Easter celebrations as the actress is expected to be home with loved ones by then. “I’m so looking forward to it,” she said with excitement. “I can’t even begin to tell you how thrilled we all are that she’s recovering.”

The 79-year-old also took to her Facebook page to share an update about her Co-star’s health status with her fans. “Just shows you miracles do happen,” Cole wrote in the post. “She’s weak but recovering. That’s all I’ll be sharing for now. Thank you to all those who prayed for her recovery.”

As soon as Cole broke the news about Lyn’s health status, fans were excited to see that one of their favorite actresses is on the path to recovery. Taking to their social media, they commented on Cole’s post to express their happiness. “So great to hear,” a fan commented on Cole’s post. “And so great they are still in touch after all these years.”

Another fan replied to the post and appreciated Cole for sharing the information. “My prayers go with Dawn, what a miracle from God Tina!! Thank you for sharing this wonderful story of a little girl from my childhood!!!” while another wrote, “I’m so happy to learn this…wonderful new[s]!”

Stanley Livingston had earlier given his support to Dawn Lyn while she was in a coma

When news of Lyn slipping into a coma became public, some of the actress’ colleagues all took time out to request for the public to support her with their prayers. Stanley Livingston, who played the role of Chip Douglas, Lyn’s brother in My Three Sons, was one of the first to comment about her condition last year. “Just found out my little TV Sis’, DAWN LYN (Dodie), is in a COMA and fighting for her life,” he posted on Facebook. “She had surgery recently to remove a brain tumor.”

He further urged fans and movie lovers to remember her in their prayers. “Please pray for her to have a swift and full recovery. I took Dawn out to lunch a couple of months ago. We had a great time reminiscing about our MTS days. Dawn is one of the nicest human beings I have ever known. Thoughts and prayers also go out to her husband, John, at this time. This is devastating news!” the 72-year-old added. “She remains unconscious battling meningitis. Her vitals and brain waves are good. The doctors and nurses are aggressively fighting the bacterial infection. They’re optimistic.”
