Riley Keough shared the last photo she took with her mom, Lisa Marie Presley before she died on Jan. 12. In the photo, the two appear to be having a nice dinner together. Riley captioned it, “I feel blessed to have a photo of the last time I saw my beautiful mama. Grateful @georgieflores took this. ❤️”
The only daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley died at the age of 54. Her cause of death is currently undetermined but it was said that she was experiencing cardiac arrest when she was taken to the hospital. She passed away soon after.
The family recently held a public memorial at Graceland, the home of Elvis. Riley’s husband, Ben Smith-Petersen attended the event and read a letter from Riley to her mother. The letter read, “Thank you for showing me love is the only thing that matters in this life. I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me, the way you loved my brother and my sisters.”
It continued, “Thank you for giving me strength, my heart, my empathy, my courage, my sense of humor, my manners, my temper, my wildness, my tenacity. I’m a product of your heart. My sisters are a product of your heart. My brother is a product of your heart.” The letter revealed that Ben and Riley secretly welcomed a daughter sometime in the last year.
Lisa Marie was recently seen at Graceland just weeks before she died to celebrate what would have been her father’s 88th birthday. Two days before she died, she appeared at the Golden Globes to witness Austin Butler win for his portrayal of Elvis in the new biopic. May she rest in peace.
