Pierce Brosnan is an Irish actor who rose to prominence as the star of the American TV crime drama Remington Steele, which aired from 1982 to 1987. He is best known for his role as James Bond in appearing in four Bond film series, the 1995 GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies in 1997, The World Is Not Enough in 1999, and the 2002 Die Another Day.

The 69-year-old started a relationship with Cassandra Harris and they tied the knot in December 1980. The couple welcomed their first child, Sean in 1983. Due to Cassandra’s ex-husband’s death, Brosnan adopted Harris’s two children, Charlotte and Chris from her earlier marriage. Cassandra Harris died on December 28, 1991, after battling ovarian cancer. Three years after her death, Brosnan met Keely Shaye Smith in Mexico, and they got married in 2001 and welcomed two sons, Dylan and Paris together.

The 69-year-old is now a granddad to three adorable children, Isabella, and Lucas from his late daughter Charlotte, Marley May, and Jaxxon Elijah birthed by his son, Sean, and wife Sanja. The former James Bond actor revealed how glad he is watching his grandkids grow in an interview with The Herald in 2015.

“I’m a proud grandfather now. There’s still a lot of life in the old man, and I’ll keep going till I can go no more. Life is so precious,” he reflected. “It can be snatched away without any prior warning, so why waste it? That’s why I enjoy my wonderful, beautiful family, my children, and my grandchildren.”

Brosnan disclosed during an appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan in April 2017 that his grandchildren have been a source of happiness to him. “It’s just such a joy to be a grandparent … there is just something intoxicating about it and beautiful,” he revealed. “There is something very special about it. I think it’s the timing of your life … you know, your passage in life is going through and you’ve brought up a son or daughter and now you have a [grandchild], and you’re looking at the clock.”

The actor welcomed his fourth grandchild in November 2022. He took to social media to announce the good news while sharing pictures of the newly-born. “Jaxxon Elijah Brosnan, born 3:06 pm 11/12/22… all good blessings to you my dearest grandson, welcome,” the caption reads. “Congratulations my darling Sean, Sanja, and Marley, Peace be with you.”

Social media went agog immediately after Brosnan shared snaps of his latest grandchild with several celebrities and some of his followers sent congratulatory messages. Irish Musician, Imelda May, was one of the first to react to the post and wished the Brosnan family well. “Congratulations to you all!!! Welcome to the world little one,” she wrote.

Chat Show host, Chelsea Handler also replied to the news by responding with a love heart emoji while British actor, Sean Maguire also wrote, “Beauty. Congrats to you all.” Also, a fan commented, “he’s so beautiful, congratulations.”
