Back in 1957, Elvis Presley purchased the iconic estate Graceland for just $100,000. He was only 22 years old and likely could not imagine what a treasured landmark it would become. After his death in 1977, his only daughter, Lisa Marie Presley become the sole owner of Graceland. Now that Lisa Marie has sadly passed away too, many fans were wondering who owns Graceland now.
Lisa Marie’s three surviving children will inherit the home turned museum. Her son, Benjamin Keough, passed away in 2020 so her daughters, Riley Keough, and twins Harper and Finley Lockwood will now own Graceland together.
The property is estimated to be worth $500 million and contains many items that Elvis once owned. He is buried on the grounds and Lisa Marie will be laid to rest there as well. Prior to her death, she wanted to be sure that her beloved childhood home would remain in the family.
She said in a 2013 interview, “Graceland was given to me and will always be mine. And then passed to my children. It will never be sold.” A public memorial service will be held at Graceland on January 22nd at 9:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the Presley family asks fans to donate to The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation. The foundation helps provide rent-free housing, career counseling, child care, and more to the homeless. If you are interested in donating, you can do so here. May Lisa Marie rest in peace.
