All You Need To Know About Late Actor Richard Roat’s Wife Of 40 Years, Kathy

Richard Roat was one of Hollywood’s versatile actors who graced our screens for over five decades. His notable roles in the popular sitcoms, Cheers, Friends, and Seinfeld, have etched his face on many peoples’ memory. While building his formidable career in the industry, Richard tied the knot at the age of 49 with Kathy Roat in 1982. The couple was married for 40 years before the legend passed away from a heart attack on August 5, 2022.

Despite their struggle with childbirth, the couple lived their life together in love and happiness. “Richard was fortunate to marry the love of his life, his true soulmate, Kathy,” his obituary read. “They had recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Their life together was a magical journey of travel, fun, laughter, and love. It was truly ‘An Affair to Remember.’”

Richard and Kathy’s marriage was known but their personal life was hidden from the public. Although the couple had an 18 years age difference between them, that did not stop their love from waxing stronger daily. Kathy Roat was a tax preparer and when Richard was not behind the cameras shooting movies, he was working with his wife to grow and develop their company.

The couple founded a tax firm, Richard Roat Associates, which was established to help entertainers prepare their taxes. For 50 years, Richard together with his experienced wife was able to successfully build and run the organization. At the time of his death, Kathy was 71 years old and she would greatly miss her life and business partner.

“His greatest love was his family, with whom he shared his incredible sense of humor, intelligence, and unmatched zest for life,” another part of his obituary reads. “Richard will be missed by family, friends, colleagues, and clients. He will be thought of often, with warm memories and quite a chuckle for all the good times he brought to our lives.”

Richard loved to relax with good music when he isn’t acting or running their family business. Also, the devoted husband enjoyed playing the violin or sipping his whiskey while watching his favorite sport.

The late actor prioritized building long-lasting relationships with his friends and co-worker while also making wonderful memories with his wife.
