Barn Housing Immense Vintage Car Collection Also Features WWII Torpedo

It’s something of an unspoken tradition to keep meaningful cars tucked safely away in a barn; it gives them space to be admired, keeps them on standby for parts, and protects from the elements. So, some barns have quite an impressive vehicle collection in them. But one sprawling collection stands above the rest, as it features cars from the 1920s and ’30s, as well as a torpedo from World War II.

This time capsule comes from the YouTuber Mr. Goodpliers who shared a video showcasing a collection that is spread across a vast Nebraska property. It has to be so spread out because the collection is a vehicular timeline that features airplanes and some of the rarest cars seen – or not seen – in almost a decade.

Mr. Goodpliers’s video describes the vast assortment of vehicles and machinery as “an incredible time capsule collection sealed up for six decades.” The video pans through several buildings filled with vintage items, most coated in a layer of dust but still distinguishable. There are sets of drawers, chairs, and even signs lining the walls. A giant old-fashioned cart can be seen standing in front of a wall lined with giant wheels as well. Under all the powder is also the remnants of a torpedo meant to see use in the ’40s.

Autoevolution suggests that a lot of the cars in the collection, though remarkable timepieces, would be costly to restore. Part of that comes from the fact that the ones kept indoors were locked away for over six decades, not seeing a ray of sunshine in all that time. Others, though, have been out in the open for people to admire should they pass by.

A place in history

A keen eye will spot a Star Four hidden away in this big collection. This is especially remarkable since the Star line was very short-lived so there are just a few of these vehicles out there. It was made by Durant Motors Company, established by William Durant who served as CEO of GM. Though some other cars – mostly outside – are not quite as rare, there are some old Volvos strewn about the property too, making this collection something Jay Leno would certainly covet.

This is enough to have anyone’s head in the clouds. Fortunately, the collection has something for that too: an airplane, back when fabric was still a key building component. Car collections usually have something for everyone, be they car lovers or history buffs. But this assortment in particular literally has a little bit of everything. Check out a walkthrough in the video below.
