Christina Applegate Shares Update On MS Diagnosis On Her 50th Birthday

Actress Christina Applegate recently turned 50 years old. To commemorate her birthday, she decided to share an update on her multiple sclerosis diagnosis and an inspiring message for her fans. Christina revealed her MS diagnosis back in August and said she was diagnosed a few months prior.

She shared at the time, “Hi friends. A few months ago I was diagnosed with MS. It’s been a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition. It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going. Unless some a–hole blocks it.” She also asked for privacy during this tough time.

While Christina hasn’t shared that much since then, she decided to write something to fans on her 50th birthday. She wrote, on Thanksgiving Day, “Yup. I turned 50 today. And I have MS. It’s been a hard one. Sending so much love to all of you this day. Many are hurting today, and I am thinking of you. May we find that strength to lift our heads up. Mine currently is on my pillow. But I try.”

MS is a disease that attacks the central nervous system and can result in a lot of pain. Other celebrities that have come forward with MS diagnoses in the past few years are Selma Blair, Jamie Lynn Sigler, Montell Williams, and Jack Osbourne. Unfortunately, there is currently no cure for MS but treatments that can help slow the progress of the disease and treat symptoms.
