If you’ve ever watched Home Improvement, you might remember that Tim Taylor’s (Tim Allen) job was hosting a show called Tool Time. He hosted the show with his friend Al Borland (Richard Karn). Do you remember how sometimes the audience of Tool Time was featured and would interact with Tim and Al? Turns out, it was the actual live audience of Home Improvement.

During that time, many shows were filmed in front of a live audience, including Seinfeld and Friends. Many fans wanted to be in the live audience of Home Improvement because there was a chance to be featured on the show! For the episodes that featured an audience for Tool Time, a section of the actual audience was chosen.

While many shows these days feature a laugh track or are just simply not filmed in front of a live audience, Tim Allen continues to work on shows that do. Tim’s most recent show Last Man Standing is also filmed in front of a live audience.

Of course, right now filming has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, when filming resumes and you’d like to be a part of a live audience, it isn’t that difficult to get tickets. Just search online for the show, such as Last Man Standing to find tickets when they are available. You must be in the Los Angeles area or wherever the show is filming though.
