If you loved the movie The Christmas Chronicles, get excited! There is a sequel in the works and it will star Kurt Russell and his real-life partner Goldie Hawn. Kurt starred in the first film and Goldie made a small cameo at the end of the film. Now, they are both likely to get more screen time in the second installment of the Christmas movie.
Kurt and Goldie play Santa and Mrs. Claus in the movie. The sequel will be directed by Chris Columbus, who also worked on Home Alone and Mrs. Doubtfire. Chris has said that he loves working on the film because “it was a joy to work alongside the couple.”

He also said, “They brought a lot of laughter to the set.” He continued, “There’s a tremendous amount of respect there and a tremendous amount of love and trust, partially because they’ve been together for so long. They just get along beautifully.”
In The Christmas Chronicles, it truly was a family affair! Goldie’s son, Oliver Hudson played the father in the film. The movie was about Santa and how he tried to save Christmas for two kids who were dealing with the recent loss of their father.
Chris was asked if any other members of Kurt and Goldie’s family may appear in the film and he teased, “You never know.” We hope there are some new surprise cameos in the sequel!
It has been confirmed that young Kate (Darby Camp) and Clare (Kimberly Williams Paisley) will also return in the sequel. According to PEOPLE, “new additions to the cast include Julian Dennison as Belsnickel and Jahzir Bruno as Jack.”
