Some Classic Holiday Songs By Frank Sinatra, Brenda Lee, & More Are Getting New Music Videos

Some classic holiday tunes by favorites like Frank Sinatra and Brenda Lee are getting the animation treatment! Universal Music Enterprises is behind the initiative to reimagine some holiday classics for the modern era.

The songs that are getting the modernizing treatment include: Frank Sinatra’s “Jingle Bells”, Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree”, Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock”, the Jackson 5’s “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”, the Supremes’ “My Favorite Thing,” and The Temptations’ “Silent Night”. For instance, there are allegedly going to be more classic songs getting the same treatment as the season progresses.

Two of the animated classic videos are already out

UMe president & CEO Bruce Resnikoff releases a statement about the upcoming animated music videos. “These songs were chosen for their enduring popularity year after year, and the new videos will allow us to deliver them to fans and new audiences alike across digital platforms,” he says. “We are also planning to use the videos in marketing and advertising campaigns to achieve even greater engagement with fans.”

Of the six clips that are getting an animated music video, Brenda Lee’s and Frank Sinatra’s both went live already. For instance, each video falls under three different categories with their own style of animation: Classics, Rat Pack, and Motown. For example, Brenda Lee also releases a statement on her hit song and her excitement over what the song has become today. “When I recorded ‘Rockin’ in 1958 I never could have dreamt that it would become a Christmas standard that would be listened to year after year and loved by generation after generation,” she says.

Frank Sinatra Enterprises speaks on behalf of Sinatra’s holiday hit, saying, “We are happy that Frank’s recording of ‘Jingle Bells’ now has an official video and that this wonderful video is part of UMe’s holiday campaign.” Check out Brenda Lee’s animated music video for “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” below:

The video for “Rockin'” is under the creation of Ingenuity Studios and directed by Alex Popkin and Even Bent. The video for Sinatra’s holiday tune falls under the creation of animation studio Fantoons. The direction is by David Calcano and Renaldo Mendoza. In conclusion, both videos invoke their own kind of nostalgia and gets you ready for the holiday season for sure!
