13-year-old Broadway actress Laurel Griggs has passed away. Laurel died from a massive asthma attack. She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, but doctors were unable to revive her after the asthma attack. She passed away on November 5, 2019, in New York City and her funeral service was held three days later.
Many of her former Broadway show co-stars attended the funeral. Laurel’s first job on Broadway was in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in 2013, which also starred Scarlett Johansson. However, she is best known for her role as Ivanka in ONCE. She played the role for 17 months between 2013 and 2015.
Laurel had an impressive career at 13
The young actress also appeared in several episodes of Saturday Night Live, and Cafe Society with Steve Carrell, Blake Lively, and Kristen Stewart. Many of her co-stars from ONCE have shared memories of working with Laurel.
Actress Eliza Holland Madore, said, “I am deeply saddened by the sudden loss of one of my Ivanka sisters. Laurel- you were always smiling and always made other people laugh. I’m so incredibly grateful that I got to know you. You will never be forgotten, and we will never stop loving you. Everybody in the Once Family is going to keep you alive through us. R.I.P. My heart goes to her family.”
