Who These Jobs Are For
The company made an announcement in light of its Career Day spanning 6 major cities. They say that these jobs are geared towards “anyone interested in learning more about opportunities with Amazon, from applying for a job within the company to learning how to start a business delivering packages or selling online.”
Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, says that he stands by his commitment to “investing and creating opportunities for people across the country.”
Amazon’s Dedication to Building a Great Staff
Currently, Amazon employs more than 650,000 worldwide. According to the Associated Press, 40,000 are expected to be hired at the new Arlington headquarters over the next several years. This will make the company the second-biggest private employer in the U.S. after Walmart.
In addition to the Career Day event, skills training will also be offered at the 6 participating cities. This is part of Amazon’s $700 million Upskilling 2025 initiative. They really put a huge investment towards building a great staff!
