Chip and Joanna Gaines are hoping to spread kindness after the wake of human tragedy in recent weeks. Chip posted a blog post called “We Believe in Human Kindness” on his wife Joanna’s blog. At the end of the blog, Chip shared a few free downloadable flyers and asked fans to print them and place them around the country.
In the post, Chip begins with, “It’s been a tough couple of weeks for a lot of people in our country, and I can’t help but wonder, how did we get here?” He seems to be referring to the recent mass shootings around the United States.
Chip believes kindness is contagious
He believes that kindness should be shared with everyone, everywhere. Not just our friends and family, but strangers. Perhaps if everyone was a little kinder, the world would be a safer and happier place. He also believes that kindness is contagious.
Chip continues, “I’m talking more in the day-to-day, in kindness that abounds in equal measure for a loved one as it does a stranger on the street. The way I see it, how we choose to interact with our neighbors, our coworkers, the people online, the check-out clerk at the grocery store, and even the person who mindlessly cuts us off in traffic has a profound effect on how others will choose to interact with us. Because here’s the other thing I believe about kindness: It’s contagious.”
Chip shared the “Magnolia Manifesto”
He also shared his family’s company’s mission statement. They call it the “Magnolia Manifesto” and part of it reads, “We believe in human kindness, knowing we are made better when we work together.”
Chip hopes to spread this message to the masses. He offered four free printable kindness flyers. You can also download them and share them on social media. One of the flyers is geared towards children and another has fill-in-the-blanks.

He ends the post by saying, “We created four different flyers—two that include general acts of kindness (great for your home, office, or around your hometown), one that is catered more towards kiddos (great for teachers and schools) and one more that allows you to name the act and fill in the blank.”
